Project Description

We continue to contribute to the flood recovery effort of Lighthouse Louisiana. In this project, we built a checkout counter for their retail store, which provides the needs of those with vision or hearing impairment. This counter is an L-shaped cabinet, taking up about 7′ square space. Its case is made from 3/4″ plywood with face-frame construction for the inside faces. The outer sides are made with plywood panels, one of which is the door to the outside facing cabinet door.

The size and complexity of the project asked the project team to be split into 3 groups. Each taking on one of three components: desk cabinet, counter cabinet, and countertop (and above).
