If you would consider doing a Skill Topic or have a topic or field trip you would like to have please tell George. St. Tammany Club has agreed to hold a joint meeting next year so we’ll be getting with them about which month that will be done. STC meets at St. Joseph’s Abby in Mandeville, LA. We would like to have some more shop visits next year, so if you are interested please advise George. We will do the visit before the end of 2022. Please remember the birdhouses we’ll assemble next month. Please help with that.
- Secretary – Harold Choate- 18 people attended in August, 3 were visitors, there are 40 members on the role.

- Community Service – Lee Owens- Our club does community service projects for local charities. The project we have currently is to build 8 tables with a chair for HAART Foundation in Baton Rouge. HAART provides support for families who have AIDS in the family. Lee went through the details he and Jack Carmena had building their table and chair. George Campagna, Art Miller and Harold Choate described their respective experiences. Art advised the club about how he and Keith Bryan used a Festool domino cutter to make the loose tenon joints. There aren’t any other projects active currently but Lee will be contacting clients to see what is needed for the future.

New and Ongoing Club Business
- Swampfest/October meeting- Last meeting we voted not to do birdhouses, then were advised the Swamp Festival would be held so we reversed that decision. Richard Robles described what is involved in the Swamp Festival for the benefit of the STC members. Richard offered to pick up birdhouses from members if they would call. He asked everyone not to wait till the last minute because he wanted time to inspect the pieces to make sure all would fit. Richard said we could attach the doughnuts as we made the kits if we wanted to. Richard plans to arrive at the Swamp Fest about 7 AM to allow time to set up. Art advised everyone that plans for the birdhouses are posted on the club website. George Campagna asked everyone to bundle the birdhouse parts so we have complete kits to work with. Richard advised the Swamp Festival starts at 9 AM and ends at 2 PM. Food and drinks are provided and are free.
- Nominating Committee- Richard Robles, Harold Choate, George Campagna, Cody Henderson served on the Nominating Committee. They will develop a list of candidates for the Club officers to be voted on at the November meeting.
- Posting articles on the Website- Richard went through the preliminary plans for the procedure to be used to post articles on the club website. Details would be forthcoming in the next couple of weeks.
- St.Tammany business- The STC president conducted a brief meeting addressing the club’s coming business details. He went into details about the Boat show STC participates in and what is involved in assisting a child to build a boat of their design. Basically a kid picks out the parts they want to use and a STC member hot glues them together for the child. The child takes his/her creation with them. The Boat Show is held October 15-16 in Madisonville, LA. 1500-1600 boats are usually built in this exercise.
