Magnolia Slab for Coffee Table Top
[brwc_user id=”4″] and I milled fallen magnolia tree into slabs in May 2018. This slab came off of upper branches and originally 3″ thick (after flattening, it now measures 2″ thick). It dried out amazingly fast, already at 14%. I filled cracks with epoxy to stablize. I rounded the ends to be pleasing shape. This slab will be coffee table paired with a custom metal base with magnolia flowers embellishment.
I wouldn’t have thought to use magnolia wood but that came out really nice! I’m looking forward to learning more about working with epoxy at the next meeting.
