Refinished Sewing Table

We started with an approximately 70-years-old scratched-up tabletop. It had almost gouges in it. We followed Bob’s advice, and we are glad we did. Here are the steps we went through:

1. Stripped it with Klean Strip Stripper three times
2. Applied Varathane Mahogany Gel Stain
   • Use a rag or lint-free towel to apply
   • Wipe off the excess
3. Applied oil-based satin polyurethane
   • Shake the can well
   • Use a lint-free rag or old T-shirt.
   • Do not use a brush as it will leave bubbles
   • Apply 3 or 4 coats to your taste
   • Use 0000 steel wool between coats
