Router Table
At the Club’s Tool Swap Social last year at the Prairieville Flea Market, I bought a router from [brwc_user id=”3″]. I came around recently to build a router table for it. I got a basic design from a catalog, which was featuring a metal-bodied router table with legs. Being a woodworker, I promptly changed the material to wood so I can build it and extended the cabinet all the way to the floor and added a few more storage drawers at the bottom.
On the left photo above, you can see all the compartments open. The upper left and right drawers hold router bits, and the bottom ones for various router accessories. One side of the table is made of a pegboard. I’ve also installed a on/off switch with a large STOP paddle on the side.
Here is a shot of inside the router cavity. I’ve attached a dust port to the back of the table, hoping to collect fine dust.
Finally, the shot of the tabletop. The router plate came with the router, and it is mortised into the table top. The fence runs from one end to the other, clamping to the edges of the table.
I’m excited by this new addition to my shop and looking forward to build future projects with it.
That is awesome Hays. I may need you to help me in building one.
Great job, Hays! Now you need to spend a whole bunch of money filling up all that space with fancy bits!
Excellent work and post on the router table Hays!
