Zippity Zoo Fest 2024

The Zippity Zoo Fest is a yearly celebration of the Baton Rouge Zoo’s birthday in April. The club was asked to participate in the celebration this year. The members decided to cut out animal figures from 2×4’s and have the kids drill holes in the top to make pencil holders. They could then take the pencil holders home and paint them if desired. Along with the animal figures we also made the same patterns in small wooden pendants on a CNC machine. The kids could then drill a hole in the pendant, pick the ribbon color to put through the hole and tie the pendant around their neck. This was our first time at the event and were not sure of what to expect! We were not disappointed – plenty of smiles!
